Grayson County Speedway Improvements and Enhancements!

Car Counts have increased each and every week during this 2013 race season!
Dennis and the crew want to personaly thank everyone who has been out to support your race track this year!

He would also like to invite those that havn’t visited for a while to give us another look. As has been the case for nearly 40 years, GCS gets a little better each and every year!

Look around and you will see several improvements made by the crew in their short time running the track.

Men’s Bathroom was leveled (NO SMALL TASK)
New lights going up for reserve parking area and pits.
New speakers for entire pit area.
Pit electrical boxes have been reworked.
Mini sprints have been added every other week for even more excitement!
A pit food stand was added for racers convenience.

These are small steps but they are all intended on giving everyone the best place that Dennis can.

Kids Bicycle Racing May 11th 2013

This coming Saturday GCS will host one of our favorite traditions! The kids bicycle races.
If you have friends, neighbors or family’s that have kids with bikes, invite them out!
Kids are separated by age and then they race their bikes on the smooth clay of the actual race track!
This is a great way to get new folks to the track and create lifelong friends and competitors.
These kids will be your future race-car drivers!

Texas Star Series to be at Grayson County IMCA Speedway April 14th

Bring a carload of kids and their bicycles this Saturday. They will race at intermision! As for special classes, GCS will welcome the Texas Star Series who run dwarf/mod light cars. These cars are a great fit and put on a tremendous show at GCS. After last weeks barn burner between Sustaire and Gould in the modified class the crowds look to increase so get there early for a good seat, heck get there early for any seat! GCS, the place to be this Saturday night!

Records broken and a close race start off opening night At Grayson County IMCA Speedway

Attendance was huge. Make sure next week you arrive early to get the best parking and seating spots! If I could sum it up shortly. The last race of the night was awesome. The track surface proved to be fantastic. A picture perfect race finish came from the modified class with the 71 (Kevin Sustaire) and the 60 (William Gould) dancing around each other all 20 laps. In the last turn it looked like Kevin was going to win, but William managed to get his car in the right position to win by 12 inches at the flag stand! The crowd was on their feet and cheering. The comments backed up the excitement felt by everyone. We heard echoes from some very prominent promoters with experiences at other tracks mentioning “only at Grayson County Speedway can provide racing like that!”

See you next week!
